Our story so far.
How it began
Koku was created out of a love for traditional crafts and a passion for exploring the cultural heritage of China and other eastern Asian regions.
While attending an IP Licensing Expo in Shanghai several years ago, we stumbled upon a booth that showcased Jianzhan, an ancient teaware from Fujian Province. Its beauty and elegance left us enchanted, and we embarked on a journey to discover its history and origins.
As we delved deeper into this world of crafts and arts, we discovered a treasure trove of design and aesthetic beauty that had remained hidden behind the veil of modernity. Our collection of these crafts and arts grew, and so did our desire to share the unique beauty of these traditional crafts with the world.
Koku serves as a platform to document our journey of exploring the vast collection of crafts and arts from East Asia, and to bring that beauty to people around the world.
